Tangent Circles

 

Given two circles, we construct a third circle that is tangent to both. There are two ways to do this. In the following GSP program, there are several things you can work with see how these tangent circles are constructed and some things that result from them. Take your time to work through the constructions (as I have made action buttons to support each step) and to play with the tools that give two circles and their common tangent circle in two different ways.
